For playing with html I use Homesite. But I am having trouble installing version 5 it on my machine :( I get the error message: DLGASKDESTTS_MSG1. Looked online (macromedia support site/ google) for help, but no luck so far.
Posted by Yolanda @ 22:19Thanks for the advice I thought I would never run that version of homesite and renaming the macromedia dir did help!
Posted by Lev @ 04 August 2003 @ 19:09Thanks to Gianluca the solution found by u trough Google groups have solve my installation of Macromedia ColdFusion Studio 5.0
Thaksssssss to Gianluca and Google!
Posted by Roberto @ 10 June 2003 @ 20:52...and if you really hate that "Macromedia " folder, the only way I have found to delete it is this:
In command prompt, cd \program files\common files\
type: dir /x
Notice you get something like macrom~1 and macrom~2.. cd to the first and then the second to see which is the bad one (for me it was macrom~2). Then rmdir macrom~2..
Thanx a lot!!
I aws the only one amongst 5 computers installing this prog, that got the error!
I was freaked out!
Now it works (deleted installshield dir)
thanx.
I also got the DLGASKDESTTS_MSG1 error on trying to install Homesite 5.
Thank you so much for having placed this page on the web. I always run to Google first if I am looking for a solution to computer problems. Your page was the only one listed, and it had the solution.
I navigated to c:\program files\common files\InstallShield and deleted the engine folder at that location (after making a backup of the folder!)
After doing this I started the reinstall of Homesite 5 - no problem!
Thanks again!!

I had the same problem but it didn't stop the installation from working fine anyway, just gave me the error whilst going between screens in the installer.
Posted by Chandy @ 25 March 2003 @ 11:04Thanks for the advice. Delete the engine folder worked!
Thanks
Posted by Mark @ 23 February 2003 @ 17:07When creating a project in Macromedia HomeSite 5 or Macromedia ColdFusion Studio 5, you may receive a "Class Not Registered" error.
On certain installations of HomeSite 5 and ColdFusion Studio 5, creating a new project will cause a "Class Not Registered" error. This situation is caused when the installer creates a file path incorrectly. If you are seeing these symptoms, your path will be similar to the following: "\program files\common files\macromedia \bin." Notice the extra space after "macromedia" in the path. The extra space causes the "Class not registered" error, since the name is different from what is expected.
WorkAround
To resolve the issue, use the following procedure:
1 If there is not already a directory called "\program files\common files\macromedia\bin", create it. (This may already have been created by other Macromedia products.)
2 Copy the files from the incorrectly named directory into the directory from the previous step.
3 Open a command prompt from Windows.
4 Navigate to the "\program files\common files\macromedia\bin" directory.
cd \program files\common files\macromedia\bin
5 Type regsvr32 xceedzip.dll.
6 Type regsvr32 wddx_com.dll.
Yep. Thanks, Yolanda. Seems like getting rid of the Engine Folder in Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield really worked. I hope everyone with the same problem uses the advice. Good luck.
Posted by Michael @ 20 January 2003 @ 23:44Found that *solution* too but didnt work.
So what I did was re-install my machine (it was just installed on friday:), and the first thing after windows xp was installed I installed homesite 5, and this time it went without any problems......... So this girl is happy again now that she can use homesite 5 :)))
Here's what I've just found using Google Groups (God Bless Google):
--------
The "String DLGASKDESTTS_MSG1..." error message that you received may have been caused by other running applications when you launched the Install Wizard. I suggest that when you install,
close all other applications including any applications that are running in the background. If you have an anti-virus installed in your system, temporarily disable this while doing the installation.
As an additional safeguard that will minimize the chance of having those error messages again, I also suggest you follow these instructions:
1. Please delete the Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine
folder
2. Clear out the Temp folder
3. Delete the following folders (IF they exist):
\Program Files\InstallShield Installation
Information\{b8d35119-e9ce-4258-9813-9715dacdca0a}
\Program Files\InstallShield Installation

Note: Please make sure you can view hidden files and folders before
trying those steps
Yes, I've the same problem, and I was not able to find a solution in Macromedia site or using Google. If you've solved the problem, can you tell me how can I solve it too? Thanks!
