In Holland we have a tradition of eating Oliebollen on New Years Eve. So there I was in the cold this morning standing in line for those *freshly* made oliebollen. Here is a picture of where I got them, this picture has been taken a few days ago when it wasn't busy.
Ow joy another computervirus outbreak; yaha-k ;] saw the first one already today..... The stupid thing of this yaha virus is that it uses a security hole that has been discoverd about 2 years ago and there is also a patch or upgrade for it......
I've never read the LOTR books or been infected by the LOTR hype but tonight I saw Lord of the Rings 1 on DVD. Sitting on the sofa with snacks and coca cola :), the best place to watch a movie. It was a very nice movie, it all looked so very real. Maybe I will go and see part 2 in the cinema soon, or I might wait till that one is out on DVD :)
Some f***ing idiot is using random faked emailaddresses of one of my domains as *sender* for spam, which results in already 2000 mailer-daemon emails since this morning..... If this hasn't stopped by tomorrow afternoon I am going to take other measures (technical). Or maybe I should just sell my domain :)
Took me about 3,5 hours, but I am done with my dreads and they look great again.
Tomorrow (saturday) I will be spending some hours on my dreads doing maintenance. If you wonder what I mean by that I will give you a short explanation:
-taking out the extensions
-tighten dreads
-wash them very very good and with shampoo (normaly I only use water)
-dry them (blow dryer)
-roll and wax them to make them tighter again
-if I see a gray hair, pull it out!!!
-make a decision if I will put the extensions back in
-if yes, put the extensions back in :)
And all this done by me, myself and I.
A few years ago I used to go to the hairdresser (specialized one) for this, and I paid between 100 - 200 euro's for it, depending on how long it took them to do all this. So I will be saving myself some money tomorrow :))
I've been spending the last few hours watching movies made after 2 books of Stephen King. The first one was Hearts in Atlantis which I got on DVD as a xmas gift last night, and the second one was the last part of the Stand which was on television.
Merry Xmas everyone. Today is going to be a relaxing day, no plans are made for today, except watching the last part of the Stand tonight!!.
Last night we went to my parents where we exchanged gifts. This year I got:
a book of Dean Koontz, body lotion, shower gel, 2 towels, jewel casket, incense box, perfume, cat toys, dvd, calendar (snoopy) and a lot more....
My little nephew Lars was also there and of course I took a lot of pictures, they will be online later today.

the pictures are here.
Last saturday I got a call from the jeweler that my ring (my xmasgift from R.) that we ordered a week ago arrived and that I could come and pick it up. So I did :)) I tried to make a good picture of the ring but I know it doesn't look that good. Will try again in daylight soon.
Thanx R. for the nice ring.
In a few hours we will know who won Big Brother 4.
Going to watch it in a few minutes and I hope that Jeanette will win BB4.
Update:
She did win :)) and she is 352.500 euro richer now.
When we were doing our last Xmas shopping yesterday I saw Pepsi Blue in the supermarket and couldn't resist to buy and try it. Result: 1 liter blue Pepsi left over now, it's horrible, it doesn't even taste like Pepsi! (not that Pepsi is that great either).
About 11 years ago I became friends with Danielle, a very outgoing girl from a town nearby. For a few years we used to hang out together every weekend, going to bars, clubs and festivals, having a lot of fun. She was and still is a special friend, a lot of times we didn't need words to know what one meant. We have the same humor. We went on holiday together, and both became nanny's in the States (me in Minnesota, she in Phillidelphia). But as time goes by, things changes, we both got boyfriends, broke up (not at the same time) and I moved a few times. For a few years we didn't see each other much. About a year ago we picked where we left a few years ago, so we meet once in a while, and talk about the good old time, the things we did together, and we talk about now and the future. Thursday she got married for the law, with a very sweet guy (take care of her Albert eehhh sorry I mean Alfred :) And yesterday (friday 20 dec. 2002) she got married for the church and gave a party. She looked very very nice in her ivory collored dress. And I? I am happy for Danielle, knowing that she is happy :)
More pictures can be found here.
(sorry for the not so good quality of photo's but there was a lot of smoke in the bar where they gave the party)
There is a update out for Jaguar, it's 10.2.3. I already installed it :) I am also trying the new version of ICQ on my mac
Guess what? I am hungry!!! But I am afraid to eat because I am afraid I might have to vomit again...... I already ate a banana, kiwi and some vegie soup and that hasn't come out yet :) Lets try breakfast tomorrow morning.
Last night R. came home late from work, so we ordered Al Capones around 9 pm. That means that your food arrives at your house a little bit before 10 pm. This time the food was packed in aluminium boxes, which I hate to be very honest cause when you go in there whit your fork it makes that horrible noise that gives me the creeps. But as smart as I am, I put my food on a plate :) When I started eating my chickenwings menu I noticed the chicken had a funny taste..... wish I stopped there but stuppid me didn't. Halfway I still found that it had a funny taste so I decided to stop.... but it was to late already. After dinner I started feeling blerrgghh, and that feeling became worse and worse... but with a bucket next to my bed I went to sleep. Not that I could sleep well, this horrible feeling in my stomach got me awake most of the time..... and the visits to the bathroom because of the diarrhea that started again. So around 7 am this morning I just visited the bathroom and while I was standing in the kitchen I got this vomiting feeling, so I had to run back to the bathroom and just made it there in time, to see how Al Capones dinner looks like the day after....... and I can tell you it looks bad and smells bad and the taste in my mouth aarrrrrggghhh. So far for trying to go back to work today (been sick at home because of that diarrhea stuff -infection-). I ended up spending most of my day in bed or on the sofa till now. But I am starting to feel a bit better. Which made me be able to write Al Capones a *nice* email to thank them for this nice experience!!!
Still having diarrhea. That bacterial infection doesn't want to go away it seems. And when I take the medication I can't go for 2 or 3 days, and when I stop its fluid again..... makes me frustrated. If this isn't gone by next week I am going to visit the doctor again!
This years Xmas campaign poster of the dutch animal protection organisation (Dierenbescherming) is rather unusual. There has been some discussions about it if it's suitable because it's Maria on the poster and some religions don't like that......
Almost everyone I know doesn't like to do grocery shopping, specially when it comes to Xmas-grocery-shopping when its very very busy in the grocerystores where half of the stuff you need is already sold out. Yep I don't like it either. But this year I found the greatest solution ever!!! I shopped online this evening and on saturday afternoon they will deliver it, so no more going to the busy stores for me *yippie*. Thx AH for this great service!!!!
Last night I noticed that the floor in the *toilet* was a bit wet, first I thought one of our cats did something there. This morning when we came out of bed and we both had used the toilet, I noticed that the floor was wet again, but now more wet, like completely wet :( So it was not the cats that did something there, no it was the drain that was blocked....... I tested it to make sure so I ended up with even more water on the floor. We started calling a company (RRS) that does 24 hour service.... and after 3 hours we got a call back from them that they weren't able to come today, because they had to much work and it would be after 10 pm before someone could make it here and he didn't want to work till after 10 pm, so we had to wait till tomorrow. I got a bit pissed off and said, well that isn't a 24 hour service then, and why didn't you tell us that around 3 pm when we called for the first time. Called another company (ROC) and they came within 1 hour after my call, and after 45 minutes it was fixed!!! And ever for a cheaper price then the first company would do it for :)
There are pictures online of course about this little adventure, and you can see them here.
A few weeks ago I walked past a jeweller here in town, looked at their window display and I saw a ring that I really liked. And when I say really I mean really kind of like being in love. But as poor as I am I decided not to go inside and get it because I didn't have the money for it at that time and I thought it would be a great Xmas gift from R.. So yesterday evening R. and I went back to this jeweller and went inside, they still had the ring I liked but it was to small :( but the right size is ordered and will be there *after* Xmas. It's a ring from Niessing btw, it's from the newest collection that's not on the website yet, but it's in the line of the Abakus ring (the rings with 3 little balls in the opening, mine has 1 bigger ball in an open circle). As soon as I have I will take a picture and put it online :)
Ieks its Friday the 13th today. Wanted to stay in bed but that wasn't possible. Still 8 more hours to go before this day is over. And then it's WEEEEEKEND! And guess what I will be doing this weekend? Yeah another party and a lot of sleep catching up.
As I said before, this week sucks. This evening I was cleaning out some stuff and I saw some nice plastic tulips with x-mas lights in them and I thought, well lets put them on, they look so nice. So I pressed the plug into the socket without realizing that the plastic wasn't completly covering the wires..... 220 volt through my hand :( So here I am with a sore hand, 2 little marks of where the wires touched my hand and a blister underneath my skin. And it isn't even Friday the 13th yet.....
I've decided that this week realy sucks. Want to know why?
-its freezing outside
-because of that we have a frozen water drain pipe in the kitchen which will have to be repared when the weather is better and it will cost money of course
-till then I can't use water in the kitchen.......
-I've been so busy with all kind of things and I feel like I haven't had time to rest
-I've got a damn headache that looks like it will be becomming a migraine attack
-got diarrhea again (it was gone for 4 days)
This is enough for now, but there is more but I don't feel like listing it here.
Hopefully next week will be better and this headache will go away!
You don't see me writing about work here very often. The reason is simple; I like to keep work and my private life separate. But today I can't resist. After 3 weeks of being sick I am finally feeling better (with the medication) and I went to the office to work. First email was a co-worker who couldn't print, at least that is what this person wrote in an email. So after lunch I finally had some time to go to that printer and see what the problem was. There I found out it wasn't the printer that didn't work but the program that gives the printer print jobs that was running wild :) so the paper was taken out of the printer *duh*. So I wanted to take a look at the program but this person wouldn't let me do that because it was (still is :) running on the machine of someone elso who wasn't at the office at that moment. Back at the printer, I went looking in the config because we want to do some adjustments to the printers in the network, suddenly this person says at me, DON'T TOUCH THE PRINTER.... I said I can touch it whenever I want because my job lets me do that :) ....
Why dont people show some trust and respect?
(for co-workers who are reading this, it's not you I am talking about :))
Brrrrrr, the temperature outside is now -2 Celcius..... that means for people who do not use the metric system that its freezing and that its about 28.4 Fahrenheit.
Finally I got the results back from the lab (remember I had to give them my shit). Well it's not salmonella but just a bacterial infection that makes my shit run fast and makes it thin. Hopefully the pills I got will do their job and I am back to normal in a week or so. No more running to the bathroom or as we say here WC :)
With some help of R. I have what I want. A php script that gives random logo's ;) Over the last 3 days I've made about 100 logo's and I will be making more and more and more.......
Trying to be creative here:
But I still don't know what logo I shall use, I would like to use all of them :) So its time for a script that gives another logo every 10 minutes or so !!
Tomorrow evening (wednesday 4 dec. 2002) the first part of the miniserie the Stand will be on tv. It wil be on Yorin (dutch tv broadcast station) @ 22.00 hour. I will be watching it, tried to read the book so many times but never was able to end it (story is good but very very long...............)
--
Update - 4 december 2002:
It was good!! I will try my best not to forget the next few wednesday evenings to watch it again, or tape it when I am not @ home.
But I did notice 4 stupid errors the moviemakers did, one of them is the reflection of a window (saw the camaraman and the soundguy in it :), other one is the doll in the beginning, the kid lost it after they passed the gate, a few minutes later you see a shot of the doll before the gate.....
Anyway this doesnt stop me from watching :) but it makes me wonder how it would have been when Oliver Stone had directed that *movie*, it would have been very very cool I think :))
