With 35 degrees Celsius here during the day, its nice to cool off in the pool. Someone took advantage of me being in the pool and made this photo :)

A few weeks ago I came across Thomas Schlijpers photoweblog, and I instantly loved the photo's he makes. Please do check his archive, the photo's of Amsterdam are so great. And dont forget the photo's of the Smart car, my car is almost the same, but then the blue is black :)

Traveling to and through the States is something I like, or should I say liked. Yesterday was the worst experience till now. Starting at Schiphol Airport, I got picked out for checking my luggage by the security dude, so I blame him for the 20 minutes delay and the bad seats we got because we had to go back to the end of the line.... Then after almost 9 hours of traveling by plane we arrived at Atlanta.
Passing passport check took a while, but I am used to that, then passing the luggage check I got picked out again so for the second time that day my luggage was turned inside out (and again everything was okay). After that came the carry on board luggage check...... guess what, I got picked out again, first they checked my laptop and then my bag, and they found this little nail sissors.... told them to keep. We left Atlanta by plane and flew to Tallahassee, where our (prepaid) rental car was waiting for us. NOT!! If it was okay if they (Alamo) charged 1100 dollars on our creditcard cause they didnt see the payment we made in January, well you might guessed it, but I didnt agree on that. They told us to contact our travel agency where we booked the car, well we booked it through alamo.nl, and it seemed that they use an agency for the cars. So after 1,5 hours of waiting and 4 calls later with the customer service of them I heard a thousand excuses and sorry's but no way we would get that car without paying again. So we rented a car for 24 hours and here I am waiting very early morning to get a phone call from the netherlands... called that travel agency Alamo uses in the netherlands already and they are trying to solve this problem before their office closes today for the weekend......
Next to all of this I am doing fine :) and I still will enjoy my stay here.

update: The rental car problems are fixed, we can keep the car till the end.

YES, finally after months of working hard I have my vacation, 4 weeks of not having to go to the office :)
